2022 Celler Frisach 'La Sang de Corb' Garnacha Blend

A field blend of Garnacha, hairy Garnacha (Peluda) and Cariñena from a single organic vineyard of 65+ year-old vines in Terra Alta, Catalonia, planted among almond, olive and apple trees. The grapes are picked together, co-fermented as whole clusters crushed by foot, rested in concrete through winter, then aged about a year in large oak. The name means "blood of crows," a tribute to the people of Corbera d'Ebre, the village that was devastated in the Spanish Civil War. Intense, broad and fresh, a great match for grilled meats and hard cheeses.
