2024 Caleb Leisure ‘Mother Sees’ Skin Fermented White Blend
The Viognier from Sumu Kaw vineyard were the first grapes I ever purchased, over a decage ago now. Emotional attachment aside, I adore this fruit. This is a deeper approach than '23, with a full 3 weeks of maceration, and without the usual companions of Marsanne and Roussanne. This wine saw 2 years of elevage, half the time in clay, and half the time in old oak. As I tighten my orbit around my home in Sebastopol, this is likely to be the final vintage of this wine.
